Bridging Borders: Implementing the DEVMIGRA Manual in the Unique Context of Ceuta

Ceuta stands at a global crossroads. As a border city, it experiences the complexities of migration with an intensity few other places face. For the youth workers and technicians on the ground, the challenge is twofold: managing the immediate humanitarian pressure while fostering long-term social inclusion and emotional resilience among young migrants and the local community.

To support this vital mission, we are proud to present the DEVMIGRA Manual to the youth technicians of Ceuta. This manual is more than a theoretical guide; it is a practical toolkit designed specifically for the "front line," offering structured methodologies to navigate the socio-emotional and educational hurdles inherent in migration-heavy environments.

Why DEVMIGRA for Ceuta?

In a city where the "border" is a daily reality, traditional educational models often fall short. The DEVMIGRA approach focuses on Non-Formal Education (NFE) to create flexible, safe, and human-centered spaces. The tools we are presenting today include:

• Conflict Transformation & Coexistence: Strategies to strengthen cooperation between migrant youth and the host community, reducing tensions through empathy-driven activities.

• Psychosocial Support through NFE: Practical session plans—including emotional mapping and intercultural storytelling—designed to help young people process the trauma of migration and the uncertainty of life at the border.

• Ethical Advocacy and Public Speaking: Empowering youth workers to help migrants tell their own stories with dignity, ensuring their voices are heard without compromising their safety.

• The Digital Storytelling Lab: Using accessible technology to give a face and a voice to those often reduced to statistics, fostering visibility and healing.
